Join the Housing Solutions Lab for a free, 45-minute lunchtime webinar, the seventh of our Data Talks series. This episode will focus on presenting local data to the public in accessible and engaging ways, especially to community members who might not typically participate in housing policy and development decision-making.
Patrick Spauster, Data Fellow at the NYU Furman Center, will give a presentation about storytelling with data on Thursday, March 20, starting at 12 p.m. A fireside chat will follow with Allison De Marco, Advanced Research Scientist at the Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute and a faculty member at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s School of Social Work; and Donna Carrington, Executive Director of the Community Empowerment Fund. They will discuss their experience leading Data Walks in Chapel Hill and Durham and share findings from their study on housing and homelessness. Register below for Session 7 of Data Talks: Equitable Storytelling with Data to join the live session, where you will be able to ask the panelists your questions.
In November 2023, the Lab launched a series of mini-webinars to tackle topics related to using local data to inform housing policy. Each webinar will be held on a Thursday from 12 noon to 12:45 p.m. Tune in for a short presentation, a fireside chat with a city or housing authority partner about their experience with using or collecting local data, and plenty of time for a Q&A.
