Rochester, NY Rochester is part of the Housing Solutions Lab’s 2022 Peer Cities Network. The Network meets regularly with peers in small and midsize cities for shared learning and problem-solving and serves to support city leaders as they design policies that address pressing housing challenges while advancing racial and health equity.


This Housing Policy Case Study examines Rochester’s (NY) lead-based paint poisoning prevention ordinance, which mandates lead inspection of all rental properties as part of the city’s existing Certificate of Occupancy inspection program.
