Join the Housing Solutions Lab for a free, 45-minute lunchtime webinar, the eighth of our Data Talks series. This episode will focus on rental registries and other innovative data tools that can help cities understand the fast-evolving short-term rental landscape in their localities.

Join us on Thursday, May 29, starting at 12 p.m. Nora Carrier, Predoctoral Research Fellow at the NYU Furman Center’s Housing Solutions Lab, will discuss how cities can use federal and local data to better measure the scale and impact of short-term rentals on their local rental stock. A fireside chat will follow with Maxwell Ciardullo, Director of Research at the Redress Movement, and Zachary Lenhert, Licensing and Housing Safety Manager for the City of Portland, Maine. They will share their involvement with short-term rental policies in New Orleans and Portland, covering what has worked in terms of policy implementation and enforcement, and what other localities can learn from their experiences.
Register below for Session 8 of Data Talks: Understanding Short-Term Rentals to join the live session, where you will be able to ask the panelists your questions.
In November 2023, the Lab launched a series of mini-webinars to tackle topics related to using local data to inform housing policy. Each webinar will be held on a Thursday from 12 noon to 12:45 p.m. Tune in for a short presentation, a fireside chat with a city or housing authority partner about their experience with using or collecting local data, and plenty of time for a Q&A.Â
