Data talks 6: Tracking landlord discrimination using data with Unluck NYC

Claudia Aiken, Director of New Research Partnerships, will host our next session on Thursday, December 5, starting at 12 p.m. It will feature guest presenters Manon Vergerio, Head of Data and Advocacy, and Ashley Eberhart, Head of Product for Unlock NYC, an organization that helps housing voucher holders in New York City collect evidence about landlord discrimination using a mobile app, and then uses those data to connect voucher holders with legal services, map incidences of discrimination, and drive policy change. A fireside chat portion will focus on early learnings from Unlock NYC’s new pilot in partnership with a community-based organization in Buffalo, NY.

Register below for Session 6 of Data Talks: Generating People-Powered Fair Housing Data to join the live session, where you will be able to ask the panelists your questions.

In November 2023, the Lab launched a series of mini-webinars to tackle topics related to using local data to inform housing policy. Each webinar will be held on a Thursday from 12 noon to 12:45 p.m. Tune in for a short presentation, a fireside chat with a city or housing authority partner about their experience with using or collecting local data, and plenty of time for a Q&A.
