Announcing Our 2023 Housing Solutions Workshop Cities

NYU’s Furman Center’s Housing Solutions Lab selected five small and midsize cities to participate in the third annual Housing Solutions Workshop, an intensive training program to help small and midsize cities and counties address housing challenges through the development of local housing strategies. The selected cities and counties include Georgetown/Scott County, Kentucky; Jackson, Tennessee; Jefferson City, Missouri; Roanoke, Virginia; and Springfield, Massachusetts.

The Housing Solutions Workshop draws government officials, non-profit leaders, and other local stakeholders together for a three-week, six-session virtual program of seminars and peer exchange. Learn more about the Workshop

Administered by the NYU Furman Center’s Housing Solutions Lab and Abt Associates, the yearly program aims to assist small and midsize cities and counties—those with populations between 50,000 and 500,000—as they develop and implement comprehensive local housing strategies

These cities have unique geographies, populations, and housing needs and are all in the early stages of developing and implementing comprehensive local housing strategies. Cities have also demonstrated a strong commitment to addressing affordability challenges and understand the pivotal role that housing can play in addressing racial disparities and promoting resident health and well-being. We are excited to begin the workshop and collaborate with local leaders from these jurisdictions.
